Naeem Khan is a desiginer that I hadn’t had much knowledge of in the past. I decided to investigate him because his designs fascinated me. A little history on the designer. He was born in India. He gained much knowledge on textiles with the help of his father and grandfather. When he was a teenager he moved to the U.S. He apprenticed for Halston. In 2003 he launched his own collection. On September 11th, 2008 Naeem Khan showed for New York Fashion week.
The clothes take a lot of influence from Khan’s Indian heritage. I noticed a lot of similar silhouettes that are structured like traditional robes and jackets or they flow away from the body. The prints on the garments are unique and colorful. The embroidery and the garments are intricate.
I liked this collection because of the great amount of colors. The textiles look beautiful, I like the great use of silk. I also liked the silhouettes of the garments particular one dress that was purple and orange, it was floor length and just looked so beautiful. I would wear it if I had the money and the occasion.
